Microwave - and other forms of electromagnetic - radiation are major (but conveniently disregarded, ignored, and overlooked) factors in many modern unexplained disease states. Insomnia, anxiety, vision problems, swollen lymph, headaches, extreme thirst, night sweats, fatigue, memory and concentration problems, muscle pain, weakened immunity, allergies, heart problems, and intestinal disturbances are all symptoms found in a disease process originally described in the 1970s as Microwave Sickness.

The UK Chief Medical Officers recommend that children and young people under the age of 16 years use mobile phones for essential purposes only. But many young people use their mobile or smart phones throughout the day and keep them switched on close to their bodies during the night. Simple steps to reduce exposure to the electromagnetic fields emitted from wireless gadgets may help to protect long-term health. Raising awareness of wireless technology safety allows young people to make informed choices and to take responsibility for this area of their health and wellbeing.
Spanish Authorities using a new EMP weapon on Citizens?
A Special Report For The Sovereign Independent
By Diarmaid O Seigefriede
In Spain three weeks ago in a town called Alzira population (maybe about 50,000 people) 30 kilometres south of Malaga a big shot politician flew in by helicopter. The landing zone was in the local police station which was based close the centre of the town .The politician was coming to the town to sort out the compensation claims and worries of the peoples where a nearby local forest and bush fire had damaged property .These forest and bush fires are a common event in the dry October end of summer tinderbox Spanish country side.
The difference this time was that the local police force used some high tech device from the police station that caused most all electronic items within 500 meters of the police station to be knocked out for about one hour. The Police told the locals it was a safety wave .This safety wave effect lasted for about one hour in the early morning times while the Helicopter flew in and about one hour later flew out. The effects were no mobile phones in that 500 meter radius of the police station would work. No cars within that field effect could be made to start their engines. All other cars outside the region were not allowed to enter this safety wave region so it’s not known if they can knock out engines that were running at the time of the safety wave event.
All satellite TV and cable TV devices in the safety wave region were knocked out also. We are talking a region festooned with multi story apartment blocks with hundreds if not thousands of normal Spanish going about their normal lives unaware that there was some sort of test of a safety wave device about to be given to them.
There seems to have been other unconfirmed issues suggesting pace makers and other medical devices were effected both within the safety wave region and possibly further than the safety wave field. There seemed to have been a local spike in death rates that day and for several days it was rumoured that the local funeral homes had a spike in burials.
There was no forewarning to the locals about this Police safety wave machines existence or its deployment for that day. Only under severe discontent from the locals suffering some bizarre event early morning in the central part of town forced the police to tell the locals they deployed this safety wave machine. The local and Spanish Main stream media didn’t mention this event which is pretty much the norm in Spain where the main stream media tows the political commands from the government. I was passing through the town a few days after the event to visit friends and got the story from the locals who were not happy to be the receiving end of these high tech devices that they had no idea even existed in their obscure stick Ville town in Spain.
This device is probably an offshoot of the Iraq war where to defend helicopters landing in the city centres from missiles and other attacks. If a jamming signal jams the incoming missiles electronics there is an increased chance that the missile will miss the target be it helicopters or the local police /army bases or even the Parliament or town halls.
Any attempt to launch missiles within the 500 meter radius protection zone will probably mean the missiles trigger and guidance systems will fail. Any attempt to use car bombs or ramming the target with modern cars or trucks could be more likely to fail. The bombs trigger systems could fail also. However older fashioned cars and trucks which don’t use electronic systems could be more able to get past these safety wave devices and bomb and IED trigger systems can be made to resist safety waves using shielding systems. Most modern new cars from about 1999 to 2000 are also now running using electronic systems and are actually designed to cause the car engines to quit when the police trigger the safety wave devices near to them. These smaller mostly hand held devices that police cars can use are to disable cars within 100 meters of the cop car with the safety wave devices. All police car in modern European countries could soon like the USA police cars which are now able to stop most all car chases using these hand held safety wave devices. The Police car in the USA in car chases now triggers the safety wave device and the modern car that is being chased by the USA police car will suffer the motor stopping when its electronic ignition systems receive this signal to stop the engine. The result is the car chase finishes sooner.
However the same safety wave signal from the USA police is causing several other cars within the field of the police car to also stop their motors with no warning and this has caused accidents to innocent parties who were not involved in the car chases. This hand held cop car safety wave system could also lead to more motorway pile ups like the recent London UK M25 crash that killed several peoples. This larger safety wave jamming device will probably affect most all electronic devices within the protection zone estimated to be 500 meters radius. It is probably some sort of massive EMP (Electromagnetic pulse) devise that creates a local magnetic pulse causing electronic devices that are not protected from this safety wave devise to fail. The biggest risk from cops having these devices in Europe or elsewhere and randomly using them is that anybody on pacemakers and intricate medical devices like diabetic pumps could suffer injuries or death from an unannounced use of this safety wave machines in their regions. If the police forces supply some warning such as one day in advance their intention to deploy the safety wave the bad guys Al-CIA-DA (Al Qaeda) would receive forewarning a big politician is coming to town. The Al Qaeda might know ways to circumvent the safety wave from their CIA training manual meant for the rent a bogie man Al Qaeda terrorists . They Al Qaeda know for instance not to use no electronic solutions for attacks The CIA manuals for Al Qaeda would suggest use primitive mortar fire or use older vehicles for ramming targets and shield electronics for IED and detonators for bombs .
Until more information arrives it could be advisable for all peoples on pace makers or similar medical devices to try not to live beside sensitive targets like Political centres, town halls, army or police stations. We can assume that all of these places in Europe will get these safety wave devices devises if they don’t already have them. Expect more false flag attacks from AL-CIA-DA units to European targets to drag Europe into a war with Iran and Syria as the USA army forces hasn’t sufficient army strength to do these wars and will try to ensure Europe fights these wars alongside Israel and the USA. We can also assume these safety wave devices will increase their range from the present known 500 meters. If enough points in the towns have these safety wave devices the whole town will become a non-electronic run town for the duration of the safety wave which could be made to last weeks or months if the powers to be decide to use them in that way. Even Hospitals which would generally not have EMP or safety wave protected equipment could suffer huge spikes in death and injury rate while a safety wave is pressed into service nearby to them
Research is still on-going on this event or similar events in Spain and Europe or world-wide. All feedback from all sources especially army and police force members who have worked with these so called safety wave devices appreciated.
Would you let your children play with a loaded gun?
Silly question - or is it more relevant than you might think?
Experts are now saying that giving a child a mobile phone could be like giving them a loaded gun. Fatal cancer is not the only thing that the radiation from a mobile phone could be responsible for in their future. Infertility, behaviour problems and dementia are also linked to mobile phone use according to a number of reputable scientific papers.
Even the conservative International Agency for Research on Cancer has classified radiation such as that given off by mobile phones as possibly carcinogenic and advised 'pragmatic' measures to reduce exposure such as using hands-free kits. A 2008 Swedish study suggested children who use mobile phones are five times more likely to develop brain tumours. The UK department of Health say under 16s should only use a mobile phone in an emergency.
British charity MobileWise says that children's use of mobile phones should be severely restricted to protect the health of the next generation. An estimated eight out of 10 youngsters aged between seven and 11 now have their own mobile and ownership is also spiralling among those even younger.
So where has it all gone wrong?
Children respond to pressure from their peer-group about what is the most 'must-have' accessory. This may be fine for the latest craze in toys, but it surely shouldn't apply to what is considered by some to be nothing less than a health time bomb.
MobileWise director Vicky Fobel said: "We have a choice. We can either continue to ignore the mounting evidence of risks and do nothing until we have incontrovertible proof that mobiles can damage health or we can take note of this evidence, even if it is still inconclusive, and act to protect children before it is too late."
In their report published yesterday, MobileWise say the Government is underplaying the potentially 'enormous' health risks - especially for children, whose smaller, thinner skulls are more susceptible to radiation.
Dr Lennart Hardell, professor of oncology and cancer epidemiology at Orebro University Hospital, in Sweden, says "This timely report draws attention to the large body of evidence which links prolonged phone use to health hazards such as brain tumours."
While further research is still needed, there is certainly enough evidence to warrant urgent action by public health agencies to protect the public, especially children, who are significantly more vulnerable."
Neurosurgeon Kevin O'Neill, chairman of the Brain Tumour Research Campaign, said: "We know that children are much more vulnerable to phone radiation." He also said the latency period for brain tumours is 30 years so it is possible the consequences of phone use are not yet apparent.
Although the experts concede the links are not proven, they argue that 'schools, phone shops and the healthcare system' should be enlisted into a campaign to reduce mobile phone use.
Ms Fobel said: "The UK Government is lagging behind other countries such as Canada, France and certain states in the US, which have tightened up their policy on mobile phones."
David Spiegelhalter, professor of risk management at Cambridge University, said: 'Public health campaigns have a cost. With no evidence of current harm, then they can lessen trust in science and increase anxiety.'
John Cooke, of the Mobile Operators Association, said: "Mobile phones in the UK are subject to rigorous safety tests and the overwhelming body of evidence does not show any adverse health effects." But he added: "More research is needed. Kids should be discouraged from using their mobile phones excessively and should text rather than call."

If you feel that your child should have a mobile phone, you might want to consider reducing their exposure the the harmful radiation by buying them a BlocSock, or Airtube hands-free kit. A Christmas present to provide your child with a safety net they deserve.

Most of the damage done by digital telecommunications is not due to heating but by the electrical effect their pulsating signals have on living tissues, which occurs at much lower energy levels.
The human body can act as an antenna and the signals make electric currents flow through it in time with the pulsations. It is this that does the bulk of the damage by destabilising the delicate membranes that surround each cell and also divide it into internal compartment such as mitochondria (the energy factories of the cell) and the lysosomes (the cell’s recycling factories).
All of these membranes are just two molecules thick and have a similar basic structure. They are liquid crystals, made largely of negatively charged molecules (which repel one another) stabilised by divalent positive ions (mostly calcium) that sit in between them by mutual attraction and hold them together like mortar holds together the bricks in a wall.
It was first shown by Bawin et. al. in the 1970s that weak amplitude modulated radio waves, where the strength of the signal rises and falls at low frequencies, could remove some of this calcium from brain cell membranes. This destabilises them and make them more likely to leak. The low frequency pulsations of Wi-Fi and mobile phone signals can be expected to behave in much the same way. – This is important in the brain because the normal function of brain cells depends on the controlled passage of specific ions through their membranes. When these membranes leak, ions flow through them in a relatively uncontrolled way, which results in brain hyperactivity and may cause attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in some people. When this occurs in the brain of a foetus or very young child it prevents normal brain development, which may result in autism (see http://mcs-america.org/june2011pg2345.pdf ) . Wi-Fi should therefore be considered as an impediment rather than an aid to learning and may be particularly hazardous for pregnant teachers.
Effects on the peripheral nervous system are equally damaging since hyperactivity here causes false sensations such as pain, heat, cold, and pins and needles in some people (i.e. symptoms of electromagnetic hypersensitivity). Hyperactivity in the cells of the inner ear can cause tinnitus and affect the sense of balance causing dizziness and symptoms of motion sickness, including nausea. Pupils showing any of these symptoms should be treated with sympathy and the Wi-Fi switched off.
Many other effects on health can be attributed to membrane leakage, including damage to DNA due to the release of reactive oxygen species (ROS) from mitochondria, and digestive enzymes from lysosomes. Such DNA damage can cause a loss of fertility and an increased risk of getting cancer.
Membrane leakage can also open the blood-brain barrier, leading to Alzheimer’s disease and early dementia. There are similar barriers protecting all of our body surfaces from foreign chemicals. Damage to these can cause or exacerbate a variety of illnesses, including asthma, multiple allergies and autoimmune disorders such as multiple sclerosis. More on these, including references, can be found at http://www.hese-project.org/hese-uk/en/papers/cell_phone_and_cell.pdf
Fortunately, because of genetic variability, not everyone will suffer the same symptoms and many may suffer none at all but, for the sake of those that do suffer, Wi-Fi is not a good idea in schools or anywhere else for that matter.
Being electromagnetically hypersensitive (EHS) is like
suffering with the cold. Not a must-put-on-a-cotton-sweater kind of cold but
the intolerable six-layers-and-a-hat-and-gloves-indoors kind of cold. When the
cold is that overwhelming everything else has to be put on hold while the
imperatives of keeping body and soul together are dealt with. When survival
itself is at stake there is nothing left to progress one’s life. That must come
later, if ever at all. The shakes, mental confusion, inattention, distress,
worry, clumsiness and many other effects of EHS are shared with sensitivity to
extreme cold.
The effects of microwave
radiation on those who have become sensitised to it can be very similar to
hyperthermia. Unlike strategies for dealing with unremitting cold such as
turning up the heating or putting on extra clothes, nothing offers relief from
microwave radiation in the wider environment. The surrounding temperature may
be the same for everyone but some are less able to tolerate the cold and for
them it becomes an attack. Similarly some people feel microwave radiation more
than others. Based largely on their own first-hand experience, The EHS Canaries
have over the last decade or so been trying to alert the world to what for them
at least are the devastating effects of microwave radiation at presently
permitted exposure levels.
Such is the strength of
attraction between people (especially the young) and wireless gadgets that few
have been able to hear these warning cries and even less have been prepared to
act on them. Until people have exceeded their lifetime tolerance and become
sensitised themselves they may well think this is all “a-storm-in-a-teacup”.
Until then the signs that they are spending their valuable lifetime tolerance
may go unnoticed.
The message cannot be
clearer:
Everyone is now engulfed in
man-made digital microwave radiation of a type that has never existed before.
At current exposure levels it makes people sick - as yet, apparently not
everyone. Are you or your loved ones in danger?
Basking in the summer sun,
it is easy to forget that winter’s bone-chilling cold is only a few short
months away.
Wave Goodbye to... Electrosmogand the serious health effects of pulsing microwaves from new wireless technologies A comprehensive, one-stop guide for beginners
DISCLAIMER:please read disclaimer at bottom of the page
Summary:
How's you and your family's health these days?
Not sleeping so well, maybe? Fuzzy brain? Strange moods swings? Headaches? New, unexplained symptoms? Doctors having difficulty diagnosing?
Incredibly, our latest phones, WiFi etc. may well be causing (or exacerbating) these problems; and our sensitivities are getting worse over time with the newconstant and increasing exposure.
People all over the world are unknowingly being affected by the new microwave smog around us, in ever increasing numbers; but we are finally realising what's up!
Who would ever suspect that innocent little cordless phone, WiFi router or 'pretty' mobile phone mast outside being the cause? Most people just never make the connection (excuse the pun!)
And even if NONE of this seems to apply to you or your family, you may well be storing up problems for the future, since all those of us regular folk suffering now were also 'fine' for a long time, but the constant exposure eventually had its effect. It's actually MUCH better to take precautions BEFORE symptoms kick in, since by then it's getting pretty serious and you can find yourself unable to function properly in today's world or at work.
Creating a microwave-free haven at home gives your body the essential recuperation time it needs, especially important while you sleep!
NB Particularly dangerous in the UK, in our experience, are the older BT Home Hubs, and I have a special section on them - if you (or your neighbours) have one, find out morehere
Our new, beloved wireless technologies send out short bursts/pulses ofmicrowaves tens to hundreds of times a second. Even though their power is LOW, our bodies are mostly water and so absorb these microwaves READILY (unlike radio waves, say) (This, of course, is how microwave ovens work: water absorbs microwaves). Now, just like an singer can shatter a wine glass with their voice through resonance (not the power of the sound), so too, when our bodies/ cells/ brains resonate with the frequencies of those pulses, it can cause anything from mild disorientation to symptoms so serious that people are becoming disabled and unable to function anymore (though get better when removed from this new 'electrosmog').
For example, I cured my own severe heart arrhythmias at night, as well as general disorientation during the day, by replacing our neighbour's digital cordless (DECT) phone with a 'safe' version (see story below).
I'm also regularly meeting people whose lives are totally transformed with this knowledge; so I know, 100% it's serious and for real (however much our 'trusty' corporations and governments try to reassure us otherwise - far too much money and investment involved to admit it). Hearing is believing and understandingHearing the SOUNDS that our various Pulsing Microwave devices make usually really hits home with people; it's almost as if our bodies recognise and wish to get away from these quite DISTURBING frequencies. This video demonstrates the same MW1 Electrosmog Detector that I carry around, held near everyday wireless items (this is not my video!):

"This really brings it home! On my 3rd day in a new job I started getting symptoms: ringingin ears, burning scalp, nose bleeds, sinusitis, stomach cramps, tingling in my limbs, pressure & pain in ears.It came out of nowhere, health was good. SO, I did a quick check of office:2 mobile towers each side of building, wifi router, antenna/base station directly above my head, 100 or so employees using blue tooth. They can have my work, but not my life. I quit after 1 month. Now symptom free." "My back garden backs DIRECTLY onto a school favoured by the BBC and Government and local business and also as of late the National Lottery. On the roof just meters away they erected a FREE WIFI mast , last week they added yet another antenna to it , same pole directly under 1st.I feel like my ears exploding , hot like as of using a mobile phone , my forehead has a band around it of pain , i already am a sick man and in the last 6 months weirder physical s**t kicking off"
Introduction:
Hi, I'm John Jamieson and on thispage I cover:
- My own story:How I got ill from pulsed microwaves, & somewhat better again - Typical symptoms:fromdizziness to heart problems
- A list of the strongest sources of Pulsing Microwaves around us, most notably your WiFi and home digital cordless phones [- clickhere for the particular problem with BT Home Hubs here in the UK (the earlier models, not the very new 3.0 model)] - and how to avoid those microwaves or reduce their influence... (and so get your old life back again!)
But it's all 'safe' isn't it?
***STOP PRESS A ***on May 31 2011, the (normally conservative) World Health Organization (W.H.O) officially labeled electromagnetic microwave radiation from cell phones(and so also: WiFi, cordless phones, smart meters and other wireless consumer devices and infrastructure) to be aClass 2B carcinogen, in the same category as: lead, chloroform, car exhaust, dry cleaning chemicals DDT (click here for an article -click here for W.H.O. Press Release )
*** STOP PRESS B *** on 19th May 2011 an unprecedented new EU resolution was passed: "Council of Europe wants lower levels of EMF and RF exposure in homes and schools"clicK EU Admits & Warns for more details, and other European news If it's all as 'safe' as many critics and commentators claim/assume, why would this even be considered?Don't forget: smoking, asbestos etc. took DECADES to be acknowledged - we're hardly into our first!
> The Swiss & Italian governments have set microwave safety levels 100 times lower than in the UK - WHY??!!? What do they know that we don't (or choose to ignore)?
Bottom Line:
Check if any symptoms improve when away from sources, such as deep in countryside, or by: - Immediately turning off ALL your home sources of Pulsing Microwaves, at least for a few days... and certainly at night and... whenever you're not using them (at the very least get them well away from your sleeping area, and if possible, working area)
Here's a brief list of the main sources:
>your home digital (DECT) cordless phone base station/answering machine:- unplug it to disable it - it's irradiating you 24/7 with STRONG microwaves! - find an alternative asap (e.g Siemens Gigasets with ECO mode plus or a simple corded phone) > your WiFi router:- unplug it to disable it - also irradiating you 24/7 with STRONG microwaves! - or move over to network cables instead and disable the WiFi in the router and computers > yourBaby Monitor (if not the old analogue FM type) - these are very dangerous to the baby - a strong DECT transmission right next to them - please throw it away (and find an FM analogue one instead) > your mobile phone - reduce usage to an absolute minimum - use a handsfree earpiece or the in-built speakerphone - don't leave on at night, e.g next to bed - don't carry around close to body (especially heart and reproductive organs) Learn about other microwave sources, both within your home/ work, and from outside- try to get them turned off or replaced with safe versions - protect yourself from their transmissions with foil or special cloths - move house if necessary! (what price your health and well being?)
Even if you have no discernable symptoms (yet), on the Precautionary Principle, all this is worth doing anyway, and some people are surprised that they actually do feel better anyway!
I go into all these in much greater depth below, but first...
My experience with DECT digital cordless home phones(their base stations transmit constant strong Pulsing Microwaves 24/7, even when not being used)
Typical Symptoms So, what are the health effects of non-stop pulsed microwaves around us?
But first: Are you ALREADY being affected?> Take an onlinetestto find out!Click Here
People may be affected in many different ways. Some reported health effects from this type of radiation are one or more of the following:
Neurological:- Mild disorientation, loss of concentration ('Brain fog'!) - Excessive yawning, drowsiness - Irritability, sudden Anger, 'emotional' no reason - Headaches - Dizziness/nausea - Memory and concentration difficulties - Depression/anxiety attacks - Fatigue/weakness - Numbness/tingling/pins and needles - Muscle and joint pains - Speech problems (e.g speaking rubbish) - Muscle tension and fatigue - Shooting pains - Soreness/stiffness in joints and spine
Cardiac:- Heart pains/palpitations - Shortness of breath - Heart arrhythmias - High blood pressure.
Eyes:- Pain/discomfort - Itchy/ dry/ like grit in eye - Pressure in the eyes - Deteriorating vision - Cataracts
Ears:- Ringing sounds/ tinnitus - Hearing loss - Pressure in the ears
Other:- Skin problems/ irritations - Digestive problems - Dehydration (need to drink lots of water) - Swollen lymph nodes - Nosebleeds - Impaired sense of smell - Light sensitivity - Increased allergies/ sensitivities - Pulsating pressure/aches/pains around the head, face and sinuses - general feeling of impending 'flu
Research has also pointed to an increased likelihood of long-term effects, including:- Cancer - Neurological diseases - Autism - Genetic effects such as male sterility - Miscarriage and birth defects - Asthma - Diabetes - Thyroid dysfunction - Bleeding disorders
and last but not least:- significantly decreased sperm counts
It is also known that microwave radiationpenetrates children's bodies more than an adult; so the possible long-term effects on young, developing children are of particular concern.
Like many people I meet now, I was getting severe heart arrhythmias at night (missing heartbeats, strong and weak heartbeats and double heartbeats), sleeping restlessly and also feeling groggy and disorientated on rising in the morning.
I was obviously seriously concerned that I might be about to have a heart attack and considered many possibilities as to its cause: was it my diet, was I not getting enough exercise, was it just my age (I'm in my 50s)? I didn't even consider microwaves because I thought there weren't any. We don't even get a mobile phone signal here, and having cleared our own house of all microwave devices and having used my microwave detector to establish no detectable radiation from our semi-detached neighbour (except right next to the party wall), I had already psychologically dismissed Pulsed Microwaves as a potential cause of my health problems. However, when one day that I read that heart arrhythmias are a typical sign of pulsed microwave sensitivity, I immediately suspected next door's digital cordless DECT phone as the possible culprit. Now, don't laugh, but I surrounded my bed with several large pieces of A2 card covered with a few of layers of thick aluminium foil (since foil is pretty good at reflecting microwaves back). I put these both under the mattress and on the two sides pointing towards the direction of next door's DECT phone base station which I knew to be one floor down and about 10 metres away. To my absolute delight, I slept like a baby that night and woke up refreshed and clearheaded again for the first time in months, if not years! It turns out that my Pulsed Microwave "Electrosmog Detector" was just not sensitive enough to be able to detect these microwave pulses from next door at such a low, but still clearly dangerous, levels.
(This has been recognised by the manufacturer who is about to launch a new detector at least five times more sensitive and at a very reasonable consumer price. When available they can be found here:http://www.detect-protect.com and specifically, the info on the old one (now discontinued in readiness for the new one) can be foundhere (they were just £60 and I wouldn't be without mine now).
Realising that many more symptoms that my partner, Leela, and I were experiencing could be related, we took the bold step of asking our neighbours if they wouldn't mind doing us a huge favour and change their DECT cordless phone system with a safe one that we would buy and supply for them. Thankfully, they very kindly agreed to do this. I bought them a Siemens Gigaset system with the "ECO Mode Plus" function, set it all up to ensure that the ECO Mode Plus function was indeed enabled (it is buried quite deep within the phone's menus!) and handed it over to them. (clickhere for more detail) Result: wonderful! We instantly felt clearer in our heads, a bit like turning the air-conditioning off when you don't really realise it's on and that you immediately notice when it goes off. We both felt that the air was suddenly clear, like walking in the countryside, and soon other small symptoms disappeared too, such as general disorientation and skin problems. And I've not missed a heartbeat at night since!! Postscript: I had a close relationship with these wireless Pulsed Microwave technologies for many years before they began to have a noticeable effect on me. Even though some people can and do get affected quickly, for many of us their detrimental effect accumulates gradually over time - getting worse so insidiously slowly that one just doesn't imagine that deteriorating healthproblems might be associated with Pulsed Microwave sources. I suspect that our strong response to our neighbour's DECT phone - we got to the point where we could hardly bear to be in the house with it on - was a result of our long term exposure and build up of sensitivity.
And it's not just me: a recent double-blind study proved heartbeats can raise from a steady 68 beats per min to an erratic 122 bpm and back to 66 bpm instantly when a nearby DECT base station is secretly switched on and off. Click Here for full details of this extremely important and fascinating study:
The Good News
The good news is that if these non-stop pulsing microwaves are affecting you, when you remove yourself from them most people tend to recover quite quickly - within hours or days. The bad news is that constant exposure seems to increase sensitivity over time and that sensitivity doesn't go away so fast (if you get back near pulsing microwaves, you still get affected). However, sensitivity may well decrease over time with longer periods away from exposure. Plus, generally detoxing one's body as well as getting fit helps a lot too (there's growing agreement that too many toxic 'heavy metals' in our bodies can create or worsen electrosensitivity as microwaves interact with them). There are, of course, many other reasons why you can feel under par or tired. For example, I had all my mercury amalgam filings taken out (with specialist dentist), and detoxed mercury for a while and that really helped me when I had M.E. (Chronic Fatigue); but that's all another story... Nevertheless - even if the primary cause of your symptoms is something else entirely - exposure to Pulsed Microwaves can exacerbate your symptoms and weaken your own health, immune system and recovery ability. It makes even more sense to ensure an electrosmog-free life when already sick from anything!
Background
Within just a few years we have become immersed in a new smog of non-stop pulsing microwaves. Obviously the long term effects of this cannot yet be known, but if the short term effects on many, many people all over the world are any gauge, it's already a very serious problem! The main issue appears to be the rates at which these microwaves are PULSING. They go on and off in bursts, from a few times a second to several hundred times. It is clearly these pulsing rates that set up resonant effects in our own (electrical) nervous systems and create problems. It is not the power (which IS low), but just as singer can shatter a glass with the right pitch of voice, so too, as our bodies absorb microwaves (which they do, being mostly water!) the cells and nerves and DNA start to vibrate with the pulsing frequencies, by resonance, and this starts to aggravate. The second problem is there's no escape for recovery time as many sources are literally Always On. When it's non-stop, the aggravation builds up and up with no respite. Some who are affected can cope well if they can just sleep in a completely clean/quite area, so at least they can recuperate at night (i.e. at a minimum, it's worth turning off everything listed below at night!)
Know your Sources of pulsing microwaves:
non-stop sources at home - irradiating you all day, every day (and night), even when not used!
NOT non-stop at home - irradiating you only when used
non-stop from outside (masts etc) - irradiating you all day, every day (and night)
First, those directly in your control, easy to fix and probably the most damaging: Non-stop pulsing microwaves sources at home:
1) Digital home cordless (DECT) phones
If you have a cordless phone at home (or work) it is almost certainly DECT microwave based and a menace (older FM ones are ok but almost extinct now - they have 12" aerials and pretty fuzzy sound). Now, here's the amazing thing: the base stations of these, pretty much ubiquitous, home cordless phones are irradiating you constantly 24/7 with high-powered non-stop Pulsing Microwaves whether you use them for calls or not! They are high power so that they reach up to 300m and not that much different from a mobile phone mast outside your window, but INSIDE your home! Problems with these DECT phones used to be reported in press, but rarely these days, here are two: "In Germany, hundreds of doctors signed a petition calling for a ban on Dect phones in public places":http://tinyurl.com/dailymail-dect-danger and:"New research shows the base stations of some cordless phones emit twice as much radiation as a mobile phone mast" http://tinyurl.com/dailymail-dect-fears try googling DECT Dangers that'll keep you busy! Note that sometimes DECT base stations are hidden in Answering Machines, and still they are irradiating you 24/7 with non-stop pulsing microwaves whether you use them for calls or not! DECT Solutions:
a)Turn off the DECT base stationat the mains (and then dump it asap!)(or at least at night to give you recovery time while sleeping) b) Just go back to wired/corded phones, they still work! Just type "corded phone" into ebay or amazon (or find in your attic/at car boot)! c) For our home phone, we even find there are stray signals coming down the phone line and so have a little difficultly with corded handsets on long calls (it starts to hurt - a bit like holding a mobile next to our ear). I have some old FM Cordless phones which we use instead, and we are absolutely fine with them (they can be identified by having aerials that extend over 12" on both the handset and the base). These do NOT transmit 24/7 and only FM analogue signals which seem fine (not microwave and not pulsed). They are almost impossible to find now, though , again, check your attic/ car boot sales! Alternatively, many corded phones can also be used as a hands-free speaker phone. d) But really, we don't actually use our home line much, we do all our calls on Skype on our PCs. For a small fee we get free calls to UK landlines and our own landline number for people to call us on (regular landline rates). This is far more convenient, has great facilities, like being able to use from any PC anywhere, voice messaging, contact list, record of all calls, etc. etc. But main thing is the call quality is so superb, it makes plain old phone lines sound awfully dull in comparison. The downside is that your laptop/PC needs to be on (though free voicemail will take messages). Of course, if you know others with Skype, all calls to them are free, even video calls with your webcam - very nice - and the crystal clear sound makes ordinary phones sou8nd very muffled! e) If you really can't bear any of the above, there are special DECT phones that are low radiation and do not transmit 24/7, but only when you're on a call, and at reduced power too. There's really only one choice and that is the Siemens Gigaset phone with DECT ECO Mode Plus; see here for my info about these phones and a video proving irradiation does stop between calls. NOTE: don't be fooled by other makes thatclaim to be 'eco-friendly', 'low power' or 'low radiation' - they ALL still transmit Pulsed Microwaves 24/7, even if at a reduced level. Siemens Gigaset with ECO Mode Plus is the ONLY one to stop transmission between calls and when the handset has not been returned to its base or charger (and not just ECO Mode - there must be the Plus bit too). NB not long ago, 'Orchid phones' were the only ones to do this, but are now discontinued, probably because they had reliability problems and were expensive. Anyway - I would NEVER get these for our own us as the handsets still transmit strong Pulsed Microwaves when ON a call, and do feel like a mobile phone next to our ears (since that's essentially what they are) BUT they are great to give to your neighbours if you want to minimise their disruption!
2) WiFi base stations/routers (and computers)
When I stand within a few feet of a WiFi base station my heart starts beating irregularly, I feel pressure on my chest and I get disorientated: WiFi internet router also emit strong and constant Pulsed Microwave transmissions. A good friend has a WiFi broadband router very near the computer he works at for much of the day.One day I noticed he was looking pretty grey and was complaining of being tired from 'too much work'. I persuaded him to turn off the WiFi in his router and, low and behold, a week later he was looking his usual, vibrant self again. He did not believe it had anything to do with the WiFi. A couple of months later I noticed him looking drawn and grey again; we checked his router and someone had turned it back on (too lazy to use a cable)! We turned it off again and he was soon look very healthy again. After the third time this happened, he did start to believe their was a link and we took steps to permanently diastole the WiFi. He's looked (and felt) great ever since! His reaction was very subtle; had it not been for me he would never have connected it to the WiFi router. But, others can get severely disabled very quickly from WiFi: Steve Miller, aka the DJ 'Afterlife', (who also lives in Cornwall and I can confirm is for real!) is a world renowned chill out producer and recording artist; his problems with WiFi arose from the very first time he was exposed to it in a studio, see this Daily Mail article: http://tinyurl.com/dailymail-wifi-agony (Steve is also a trustee at radiationresearch.org ) Personally, I find them not as disabling as DECT base station, but still can't bear to be in the same room, and preferably not same house! (I do get disoriented and can't focus from next door's WiFi if I stay indoors all day - we're semi-detached - but, for us, it's nowhere near the problem we had with their DECT phone base station). Whereas Steve Miller, mentioned above, finds WiFi even more disabling than DECT base stations. It's not clear why some people react more than others to the different pulsing frequencies of the various technologies. Many libraries and schools in UK and Europe have dismantled their WiFi networks to return to cables after health and concentration problems in both staff and children/ visitors. Other countries are getting ahead, for example, Paris has dismantled all the WiFi in its libraries and gone back to wired connections. Note that WiFi adaptors in computers and laptops also emit pulsed microwaves: when in use (such as when streaming video) they emit constantly and at high power, when not in use (no downloading, but connected) they emit short bursts every few seconds and when not in use at all (not connected to a WiFi base station), they do still emit pulses occasionally. There is a real problem, especially with laptops, having these transmissions so close to the body; best is to disable the card/adaptor. try googling WiFi Dangers that'll keep you busy again! NB Click here if you have a BT Home Hub wireless router, as it has DECT built in too.
WiFi Solutions A)Base Station/router:
Your broadband router is almost certainly transmitting WiFi Pulsed Microwaves constantly too, even when you don't use it. But in almost all routers it can be turned off in the software, usually under "Turn Wireless Off or On" or "Enable or Disable Wireless" - see router manual. (Except, in UK, BT Home Hubs 1.0 1.5 and 2.0 - see here )
How to tell if your router is WiFi or not: generally they have one or two aerials on the back, but not always: new wireless routers don't have antennas anymore. If “WiFi” or “WLAN” is written somewhere on the router or one of the LED lights is labeled “WiFi” or “WLAN" then you do have a wireless router. If not then it is more than likely it is not wireless. Check the manufacturer’s website using your router’s model number to be sure-, or Google to find its specifications. If still not sure, email me the router make and model and I'll check for you.
There are two viable options for turning OFF your WiFi and avoiding the constant microwave pulsing of WiFi base stations and also your computers. Bonus:BOTH options are faster and more reliable than wireless! i) Just use Ethernet networking cables instead.
The easy way is to route them around the side of room, up and down stairs, or out through windows around the house and back in through another window (they squash quite easily) - messy, but so much better than WiFi. Or you can do it properly by drilling walls etc. Cables are also faster and more reliable than wireless. Very long network cables are incredibly cheap, e.g, search ebay, amazon etc. for network cable, or see ebuyer:http://www.ebuyer.com/search?page=1&q=cat5+cable&subcat=2427 Look down left side for the length you want e.g 30 metres - from only £7 or so! Top Tip: Always get the 'snagless' ones as they have little covers over the delicate plug clips to stop them being broken off as you move them around. Note: you may find that some routers lose connection on very long cables, perhaps greater than 20m. I have found this occasionally with some PCs and with some cheaper routers, including the BT Home Hub 3.0. So, what I do is use a separate quality 'network hub' to power them. They come in 4 port, 5 port, 6 port, 8 port and even higher. Simply plug all your network cables into one network switch hub, including the network cable from your router, and you should have no more problems! You can get them from £10 - just search for 'network switch' in ebay, amazon, ebuyer etc. Another handy option if you need several computers connected some way from the router is to run just one long cable and plug the remote end into a network switch hub and, on a 4 port hub) you'll have 3 or more sockets left for plugging in more computers (in an outside office, for example).
ii) HomePlug / Powerline Ethernet Network Adapters-Combine Ethernet cables and networking over your 240V mains circuits.
Yes, you can use your mains cabling as a network to link up computers all over your house/premises (typically up to 200m away) with special plug-in adaptors. PARTICULARLY good for people renting, say, who can't drill walls etc. for permanent solutions. You need at least two: one to plug your router into and one for each room where you want to plug your computer into the network (with network cables).
It's been said by some that the faster 200Mbps ones are potentially disturbing and maybe best avoided. There's no extra benefit in using them as your network is most likely only running a 100Mbps anyway. So, best stick with the 85Mbps ones (plus they are cheaper!)
DON'T FORGET TO DISABLE WIFIin your WiFi router (and computers) or you'll have wasted your efforts!
CAREFUL: Just DON'T get these:
Just be careful NOT to buy Wireless Access Point WiFi repeaters by mistake - they plug into the mains too but act as transmitters to strengthen WiFi signals around the home and so make things WORSE!
WiFi Solutions B)- WiFi cards/ adapters in PCs and laptops
Now, you also need to disable the WiFi in your laptop or Computer, so you won't be having regular WiFi microwave pulses signals being emitted very close to you. There's often a button on laptops specifically for this (since the adaptor uses power and turning it off saves battery life). Or, this is done manually by finding the Network Adaptors screen (probably via Control Panel) and when you can see the actual WiFi adaptor, just Right Click it and choose Disable. Then, if ever you need a short burst of WiFi you can go back and enable it, (but don't forget to disable it after!) Not sure how? Just Google, for example: How do I disable wifi in windows XP
Connecting to the internet via a mobile 'dongle' is becoming very popular. Unfortunately, they are like miniature mobile phones and transmit strong signals: particularly dangerous when plugged straight into your laptop or computer as they are then so CLOSE to your body.
Solution: a wired connection is ALWAYS preferable, but if you really have no other choice then another option is to connect the dongle onto the end of a long USB 2.0 extension cable and then dangle your dongle out of a window, or on your roof, or somewhere behind some protective material or aluminium foil; though do be aware of keeping it well away from other people/ children too :)
You can get quality USB 2.0 extension cables off ebay for a few pounds; they will extend up to 5 metres in length maximum, and if you get a 5 meter USB 2.0 Active Repeater Hub/Cable too you can add the extension cable to the repeater cable to double that to 10 metres! (Here is one I found on Amazon which has BOTH the repeater and the extension for just £8 - you can find more by simply searching for "usb 2.0 extension 10m" in ebay, Amazon, etc.) I have a friend who is so sensitive to mobile phone signals that cannot accept or make ANY calls on a mobile phone without getting severely affected, however, he seems to manage with a dongle on a long extension lead fine!
NB Don't use any old USB extension cables - they must not be USB 1.1 or inferior quality or you may get problems on longer lengths.
5) Alert: BT Home Hubs (pre Home Hub 3.0)
Are you a BT Broadband customer? If so, you will almost certainly have a BT Home Hub - these represent a particular danger, with their built-in powerful DECT base station that cannot be turned off and is irradiating your house 24/7, even when it's not supplied with a BT DECT Handset to use it!
Note if you've had your BT Home Hub delivered from Feb. 2011 onwards, it's probably a Home Hub 3.0 which is safer, in that it has no DECT base station anymore (and WiFi can be switched off)
Click herefor more of my BT Home Hub information and personal experiences, and here for how to identify you BT Home Hub and what your options are, including upgrading yourself to a BT Home Hub 3.0 (though any make of router will work fine on BT broadband!)
This definitely one to tell your friends about!
6) Babies and Baby Alarms/Monitors - eek!
Pretty little Baby Alarms are essentially DECT base stations transmitting powerful DECT Pulsed Microwaves throughout your house... and the cot; implicated in SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), they are REALLY bad to have in your baby's cot. Only fit for sledge hammer treatment!
Baby Alarms/Monitors - solutions
FM analogue ones are still available, I found one on ebay for my granddaughter. Don't take risks with the babies!Find them by searching for analogue baby monitor at Amazon, etc.
If not convinced, read this on DECT Baby Monitors from familiesonline.co.uk.
7) Smart Phones/Pad - iphones/ipads, Blackberries, HTC Android, etc. BEWARE: Mobile Data Transfers, WiFi and Bluetooth COMBINED!!
A so-called 'Smart' phone/pad is now so much more than just a mobile phone, with many more microwave applications and implications. So, they will be emitting a LOT more radiation than a normal mobile phone; they too can be CONSTANT and you will often be keeping itvery close to your body and so this is a significant risk to take. OMG - some people even sleep with them on their bedside table, or even - horror of horrors - under their PILLOW!
To manage these new dangers you will need to get to know their settings menus to find out how to quickly enable and disable microwave functions listed below, as soon you need to:
a)Mobile access to Internet/ Data Services. When you are in data mode/ connected to mobile data networks (i.e. you can browse the internet, or connect to traffic or map services, etc. etc.) it means that your phone is pretty much CONSTANTLY connecting via pulsed microwaves to the internet for data services. Even when you're not doing any direct accessing, they are STILL connecting and communicating with quite a lot of pulsed microwave activity.
Solution:Disableaccess to mobile data networks - unless you REALLY need urgent access, then enable it and keep it short before turning access OFF again (don't forget to do that bit!)
b)WiFi accessAnother way people use to access the internet, their email, etc. is via a WiFi hotspot. When enabled, your cute little phone/pad is acting like a full WiFi terminal (like a laptop does); and, again, having it so close to you can be very damaging.
These days, it is a very tempting option when there are son many free WiFi Access Points/ Hotspots.
Solution: Again, Disable access to WiFi networks - unless you REALLY need urgent access, then enable it and keep it short before turning access OFF again (don't forget to do that bit!)!
c)Bluetooth connection to peripherals, such as Earpiece/ Headset, Printers, Keyboards, etc.Almost ALL these devices have Bluetooth Class 2 functions, usually Enabled by default. See Bluetooth section below for more info., but remember: even though Bluetooth is relatively lower power, being constantly CLOSE to the source makes them exponentially more dangerous.
Solution:DisableBluetooth function permanently! Headset6s can be wired, and most else can be done via a computer etc. There should really be NO need to have Bluetooth enabled at all - unless you REALLY need short urgent access, then enable it and keep it short before turning access OFF again (don't forget to do that bit!)
d)iPhone, iPad and Blackberry 'piggy-backing' Specifically: iPhones, iPads and Blackberries are said to also have continuous 'piggy-backing' emissions (as well the usual transmissions described above). This is so that other nearby iPhones, iPads and Blackberries not in range of a cell tower can actually piggy-back through yours and so get a connection. In this way they are a bit like miniature WiFi hubs that work together to create little networks to get out-of-range users to a mobile mast!
Solution: because there's no known way to turn this function off the only ways are to either put the phone in Airplane Mode, turn it OFF orbuy anotherdevice!
e)Mobile Phone functionsAnd yes, it can also be used as a mobile phone! See section on mobiles below, as all that applies too!
f) Using in a CarNote that the special concern about using mobiles inside a car (because they have to transmit higher power to get out of the metal cage of the car) is significantly greater with all these other services enabled too, especially as THEY are continuous.
NOTE: Airplane mode is GREAT for all handheld devices - you can be sure ALL transmissions are OFF and no danger of being fried by the microwaves!
For example, I use my HTC Android in my car for its SatNav function and so keep it in Airplane Mode, as my CoPilot SatNav does NOT need to be connected to a mobile network (unlike Google Navigation, for example). Then when I stop, I get OUT of the car, switch Airplane Mode off, check messages (using hands free speaker phone or wired headset) and then turn Airplane mode back on again.
By the way, turning off these functions may well save you money for data transfer charges and make battery last longer.
8) Bluetooth: Handsfree kits, headsets, mice, keyboards, etc.
Surprise, surprise Bluetooth is also based on Pulsing Microwaves, but at very much lower power, and many report that they can get on with, say, Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, or even a headset, where they can't cope with DECT/ WiFi/ mobile phones etc. But I would never put one in my ear: directing pulsing microwaves directly into your ear canal seems to be asking for it! People do report headaches etc. from extended Bluetooth use, who knows what the long term effects could be. I prefer to keep exposure all sources of microwaves to an absolute minimum.
And, more complication: it depends on which CLASS of Bluetooth you have:
Class 1 - high power - range is up to 100 metres - peak power 100 mW (milliwatt)
Class 2 - mid power - range is up to 10 metres - peak power 2.5 mW (most devices)
Class 3 - lower power - range is up to 5 metres - peak power 1 mW
it's not always easy to find the Class, but if you Google the model name followed by the word: class - you may well find it mentioned somewhere.
Avoid Class 1 altogether! And even though Class 2 and 3are much lower power than DECT, WiFi and mobile phones, say, for the sake of prudence and precaution I suggest avoiding Bluetooth altogether; and that also means disabling it in your laptop, computers, mobile phones, etc. See manuals for how to do this; in laptops there's typically an icon in the bottom right 'system tray' which you can right click to 'Disable'.
Note: most wireless mice and keyboards are now 'Bluetooth' or 'operating in the 2.4GHz range' (same as a microwave oven), so stay with wired or the older FM frequency models (if you can be sure they are indeed FM).
9) GPS / SatNav with Bluetooth
Be aware that, increasingly, many SatNav devices come with Bluetooth now; this is of particular concern, again, inside a car as the car body acts a bit like a microwave oven - bouncing the microwaves all around inside the car and intensifying the danger. Of those that do, some can disable the Bluetooth microwaves transmission, some may not, you'll have to research your model!
10) Cars now with Bluetooth
Also, be aware that since 2004, increasingly, many cars are now coming with Bluetooth service installed (or as on optional extra). Currently, the functions are for enhanced and integrated audio, entertainment and mobile phone systems. However, there's also talk of using Bluetooth to replace wiring looms for the remote function of locks, lights and potentially all the car's equipment - phew!! That's one to keep an eye on.
Solution: check with manufacturers if the model you are considering is Bluetoothed and if it is, if and how it can be disabled.
11) Games Consoles
Some Games Consoles, like Wii and Xbox 360 have low power non-stop pulsing microwaves to and from the controllers, even when turned OFF!!
At a minimum, it's best turn those off at MAINS when not actually in use (the only reason the transmissions stay on is so that they can be turned on by the remote controls).
But you may want to question whether you want to expose your children at all to those wireless remote controls, and certainly not for extended periods.
10) GPS / SatNav with Bluetooth
Be aware that, increasingly, many SatNav devices come with Bluetooth now; this is of particular concern, again, inside a car as the car body acts a bit like a microwave oven - bouncing the microwaves all around inside the car and intensifying the danger. Of those that do, some can disable the Bluetooth microwaves transmission, some may not, you'll have to research your model!
11) Other WiFi/ Wireless equipment and sources: Printers, Headphones, TVs, Speakers, Home Alarm Systems, etc.
Bear in mind that modern equipment like TVs, printers etc. now often have WiFi built in - just be sure before you buy that there's either no WiFi or it's guaranteed that it can be turned off. And pretty much anything 'wireless' these days is based on the microwave frequency range; older systems were based on non-pulsing FM, which is fine for almost everyone. Some wireless equipment, like remote headphones, can still be based on FM signals or even infrared, but it's getting rarer.
How to tell? Look at the small print: if it says FM/infrared, you're fine; if it says anything with GHz (Giga Hertz), such as 1.8Ghz or 2.4GHz it will be pulsed microwave based; if it says Bluetooth, see previous paragraph and if it just doesn't say anything at all, it's almost certainly microwave based.
More home alarm systems are using WiFi instead of wires to communicate from the motion sensors to the controller. Some may also detect motion by the sensors sending out microwaves into the room.
12) 'Smart Meters' (utility companies install to monitor electricity/ water/ gas usage)
NOT a smart idea! These are the latest plague to seriously affect 1000's of people. Well advanced in implementation in USA, they are coming to UK/ Europe too (British Gas leading the way). These are so bad that 43 cities and counties in California have already banned installation of the dangerous "smart" meters or asked for a moratorium until laws can be put in place mitigating or stopping them, e.g. Marin,CA Smart Meters 'criminalised'.
They not only transmit WiFi -type pulsed microwaves, but it seems that people are getting mysteriously sick/disabled even before the WiFi is officially turned on, possibly due, it seems to strange high frequencies being put onto the mains cables themselves creating 'Dirty Electricity'.
Smart meters are different from other home Pulsed Microwave wireless devices because they are involuntary, put right on your property and operate in mesh networks: transmitting intense bursts of pulsed microwave signals back and forth among homes, collecting and transmitting data about our electricity usage, with the now proven biological and health effects, such as: DNA breaks, cancer, endocrine disruption, birth defects, heart palpitations, learning impairment, fatigue and sleep disturbance. As always, children, pregnant women, seniors, people with immune deficiencies and people with medical implants are most at risk.
If at all possible, decline all offers of smart meter installation in your own home, and preferably your neighbours too, as their effects seem to go beyond the immediate circuits they monitor.
"Smart" meters are horrible. My sister used to be EHS [Electrically HyperSensitive] to only ELF [Extremely Low Frequencies, such as home mains frequencies], no problems with cell phones or wifi. After two days living with a smart meter on the house NEXT DOOR (none on hers because we kept them away so far) she became sensitized and a horrific experience ensued, she had to stay in her car and lurk parking for hours next to open space and subsequently is now sensitized to wifi et al.
Stay as far away as you can [from Smart Meters]. Look at the stories, many people with ZERO history of EHS became sensitized after Smart Meter exposure:See: http://smartmeters.transbay.net/doku.php?id=health for testimonials and huge, well organized library of Links
culverpratt on Yahoo eSens forum
I believe they are being offered in the UK already, but are not (yet) mandatory, whereas it seems they are often mandatory in USA. and other places around the world.
Forewarned is forearmed - it's worth finding out and keeping an eye on your local utility companies' policies on Smart Meters
Some smart Options:
Simply refuse to have a Smart Meter installed (or INSIST one any there being unistalled)
In case you are not given notice of installation, put notices on your meters (electric, gas and water) insisting on NOT installing Smart Meters
Educate your local community and neighbours to take action
If they insist on installing, or refuse to uninstall one that's already there, try asking for a Pay-As-You-Go / pre-payment type.
If you are already affected and can find a doctor who will acknowledge and support your sensitivity they could write a letter for you, e.g. 'As the physician of _______ , I am writing to you regarding the use of digital meters in her home. She has electrical hypersensitivity and the digital meters are affecting her health. It is medically necessary for the digital meters to be replaced with analog meters. If you have any questions regarding this issue, please feel free to contact me'
Finally, some people have taken direct action and replaced their Smart Meter with an old analog meter - you have to find a willing electrician. Nobody's been arrested or cut off -- so far, but obviously it would be at your own risk!
Read this letter to the editor of Topanga Messenger as a good summary and links to info
Note that there have been MANY complaints of utility bills suddenly rising, sometimes dramatically, after Smart Meter installation - there's no way to verify the meter; at least the old analogue ones are a tried, tested and reliable choice!
Here's an irony for you: the newer lovely, eco-friendly solar panel installations use WiFi-type (probably Bluetooth Class ) transmissions to talk to their controller boxes.
I'm checking out more on this one, For now, insist on a WiFi free (wired) version! Or opt out of the separate controller box, and turn the Bluetooth function off (take readings directly off the main inverter box).
14) Just coming in: 'Smart' Home Appliances with WiFi ?!?!?!
Can you believe it? Now our home appliances have started to be made with in-built WiFi transmissions to talk to the 'smart meters' and supposed help manage your utility usage (if you're still alive, that is, with half a dozen extra WiFi transmitters in your home). Even our light bulbs are planned to be WiFi 'smart', each with their own internet address.
This is one to be aware of - for now, just ask and make sure your new appliances are NOT WiFi enabled (or definitely can be turned off, though early signs not good on this option).
Now, home Pulsed Microwave sources that are not constantly pulsing and easy to limit use of:
Other pulsing microwaves sources at home (not non-stop):
1) Mobile Phones
Yes, obviously, your mobile phone is emitting microwaves!
It transmits strong pulsed microwave radiation when you are using it, and next to your head they are dangerously high, causing anything from warm ear/ headaches/ fatigue to cancerous tumours long term.
Best advice is, surely, to only use it in emergencies (or very short calls of a few seconds). Also, when you are a long way from a phone mast the phone ups the output considerably to reach the tower; better to make calls nearer towers if you have a choice.
Sending and receiving texts only requires a short microwave burst, so some who can't cope with mobile calls find they are able to stay in touch via texts.
When it's on, but not on a call, it sends a short bursts every few minutes to let the cell tower know it's still there - best not sleep near it, or have it too close to your heart or reproductive organs (there's much speculation linking hugely decreased sperm counts with mobiles/microwaves).
I used to be able manage longer periods on a mobile, but now, even a few seconds can give me an earache/ headache for hours.
I find using a handsfree headset (wired) works well for me - I feel no discomfort, though I still keep calls short. Some report that even headsets becomes a problem for them over time and use one with an air tube for the sound instead (when they really have to).
Or, most phones these days allow you to use it as a speaker phone, so you can keep it well away from you.
Using a mobile in a car is particularly bad as the car acts like a microwave oven bouncing microwaves all around inside (and requiring the mobile to transmit at much high power to compensate). Better to stop and get out of the car for the call (and ask passengers to do the same!)
2) Microwave ovens
Microwave ovens are very strong sources of pulsing microwaves waves, and actually do emit a lot when on and new, let alone when they get older and start leaking. Anyway, I gave up the whole microwaving of food idea after I read the suppressed Swiss report on Microwave cooking dangers. It does horrible things to vitamins, enzymes, DNA - basically busting molecules apart, as well as shaking water molecules, as well as to your blood chemistry (Russia banned them in the 1970s because of this).
These new 'environmentally friendly' light bulbs can be a real health hazard. Not only are they highly toxic when broken (mercury vapour) but they also emit high levels of radiation too. Even though not strictly microwave radiation, many people are getting many of the same symptoms, particularly headaches and sleeping problems, as well as skin burns and rashes from the strong ultraviolet light they emit.
If you are using these bulbs, I stronglyrecommend watching this video series to get a sense of how seriously you can be affected:
Go back to the old incandescents (stock up as they are being outlawed soon) or most LED based bulbs seem to be fine (still expensive, but they do last a VERY long time!)
Now, let's look at sources OUTSIDE your home, but irradiating your space anyway
External Sources of non-stop pulsing microwaves (out of our direct control):
1) Mobile Phone Masts
People all over the world are getting seriously ill near mobile phone masts (house prices are even dropping near them).
In city centres it's coming from all directions and almost impossible to avoid. I would never live within 1/2 a mile to a mile of a mast, preferably more!
They are constantly bombarding you, often from several different operators and directions (thankfully we live in a small coastal town in a valley which actually has NO mobile reception at all!!).
These days mobile, WiMax, police Tetra and local WiFi repeater masts and even Smart Meter masts can also be not so obvious or hidden in:
> pub and shop signs
> street lamps
> church spires
> disguised as a pole
> even made to look like trees!
People spend £1000s on shielding solutions, but if you're close to a mast or several masts it really may be much better to move away, many people do (drastic, but what's your health worth?)
How many masts nearby?A good tool in the UK to help you find out how many mobile or police Tetra masts there are in your area or where you are planning to visit or stay is the official: http://www.sitefinder.ofcom.org.uk/search though they don't have to list the some of the smaller masts which cover very small areas and may be hidden in signs and lamp posts etc. (and which I don't think need planning permission. More good reasons to get your own electrosmog meter to measure it all.
STOP PRESS: Incredibly, people are now being offered up to £7,000 to HIDE a mobile phone mast in or on their own homes (such as inside a drain pipe) so that they CANNOT be seen from outside (thus avoiding planning requirements), see full story in Daily Telegraph:Homeowners paid to hide phone mastsThe moral is that appearances are deceiving and that getting a proper microwave meter/ Electrosmog Detector is essential if you want to protect yourself and family from Pulsed Microwaves (see below).
2) WiMax
WiMax is wide area wireless broadband services - That is broadband coming through the air rather than your phone line or fibre optics.
WiMax is becoming increasingly common in cities and towns, and many people are already complaining of sickness and symptoms (all officially ignored since we all 'know it's a safe technology', right?!)
Some communities are objecting already....
Glastonbury (UK) was one of the first to have WiMax imposed - I mean installed - in the UK. Residents claim they are suffering panic attacks, skin rashes, headaches and dizziness since the streets there became one of Britain's first wireless internet zones.
Some locals there say they have been so badly affected by symptoms - that also include attacks of nausea, sudden sweating or extreme fatigue - they can no longer walk in the town. Others have even chosen to move away.
Note: it now appears that Somerset County Council have decided to withdraw from the three year Glastonbury Wi-Fi pilot project after just 14 months, stating "economic reasons" rather than in response to the health concerns (well, they aren't going to admit it's harmful!)
3) Neighbours' DECT and WiFi
This was a big one for us, since it came to the point where we could hardly stay in our own house for more than a hour with their DECT phone base station powered on, but luckily our neighbour was helpful enough to change their DECT phone for a low radiation one we bought them (and turn off their BT Home Hub 2.0, replacing it with a normal wireless router). They have also now kindly agreed to turn the WiFi off at night and when they are out, which has made a big difference to our well-being! (we're not so badly affected by the WiFi next door, though others can be).
This especially applies to neighbours who are attached to your house, e.g semi-detached, terraced, apartments, etc. Outside walls and space between houses seem to reduce the bulk of problem, at least from neighbours' signals (though we did live in a wood chalet once, 80m away from our landlord who had his DECT base station in his glass conservatory with a direct line of empty space between us, and we got quite strong signals inside the chalet)(DECT is designed to go 300m in open space!)
If you are nice to them, your neighbours may well be amenable to the idea that their equipment is hurting you, especially if you can already relate some symptoms. If you have, or can borrow, an Electrosmog Detector you will be able to demonstrate to them the sound THEIR microwave pulses are making: this is VERY powerful as most people instinctively feel a STRONG negative reaction to the those sounds; in fact, most people just CANNOT relate to the idea at all until they hear it (or are feeling ill from it)!
So, if they are responsive, here are some options to suggest:
1) Ask them to at least turn it all off at night - DECT and Wifi base/router, mainly - but then you are very reliant on them remembering. You may invite them to see if THEY feel any better, such as sleeping better. Also, if they can move it all as far away from your side of their house, that can help.
2) Offer to change their Digital Cordless (DECT) phone with a safe Siemens Gigaset DECT phone with ECO Mode Plus. These ONLY Transmit when on a call and for about 30 seconds after. I got a refurbished set with three handsets for £40 off ebay (£149 rrp) (make sure it states something like: "Furthermore, radiation-free ECO Mode Plus slashes the transmitting power by up to 100% when the handset is in standby " - it's the word Plus that must be there). This was GREAT investment, not matter what it costs, for the relief we got. They will notice hardly any difference with their normal DECT phone, except, an occasional extra second to get a dial tone (if they don't speed dial or pre-dial before they connect).
Siemens Gigaset DECT phones with ECO Mode Plus will turn OFF the base station transmissions when not on a call. But, you must makes sure that the mode is selected (read the manual, it's buried in the menus) and then make sure that it STAYS selected (e.g neighbour's kids don't fiddle)! And the only way to do that (without going around to check all the time) is to turn on your Electrosmog Detector every day or week etc, as you should be able to hear it buzzing if your houses are connected and DECT is on - another good reason to buy your own electrosmog detector). More on these safer Siemens phones here
3) Most importantly, if they are a BT Broadband customer, they will almost certainly have a BT Home Hub - again, these represent a particular danger, with their built-in powerful DECT base station that cannot be turned off and is irradiating all and sundry 24/7, even when it's not supplied with a BT DECT Handset to use it and its 'Telephony' function is turned off! Well, thankfully, there IS now something you can easily do to fix this problem from close neighbours: upgrade them to a BT Home Hub 3.0 (or any other router) - it's a much better router, so they shouldn't object. More details here, and a page here to help you explain its benefits to neighbours.
4) As a WiFi solution, offer to buy them a set of Homeplug adaptors; again the link is here for a set of three 85Mbps ones for £44.99 delivered. Note that the main inconvenience is that a network cable is required to connect to the nearest mains plug, but as laptops and computers are almost always plugged in at home anyway, it's not much extra bother to have the extra adaptor and cable running alongside the mains lead. Of course, it does mean a restriction in not being able to move a laptop/ netbook around on battery power so easily, but the benefits do far outweigh that.
Apartments and Flats
If you're living in an apartment or flat with several neighbours in all directions (sides, above, below and diagonals), you are almost certainly being bombarded with high radiation from multiple sources/ You will have a problem to significantly reduce exposure from all those sources. You could talk to all your adjoining neighbours, but the chances of them all co-operating is fairly low.
And finding good and effective microwave shielding solutions can be both challenging and expensive. See notes below.
5) Cavity Wall Insulation problem - special note on 'Microwave Oven' effect
We live in a brand new, extremely well insulated lovely semi-detached house.
But there's a problem:
it's got these insulating glass fibre pads in the cavity walls and roof and they are all backed with thick aluminium foil.
Now, this is VERY good for keeping the microwaves OUT of the house - they reflect microwaves back very well - BUT any microwaves that either get in through the windows or come from next door (there's no insulation in the semi-detached party wall) just bounce around and around until they can find an escape through a window OR get absorbed by anything with water in it - i.e. that's mainly us!
This may be one reason why we became so sensitive to our neighbour's DECT phone - we're living in a microwave oven!!
So, be extra careful with creating microwaves inside these modern, aluminium foil-lined houses; and if you live in one, and have other sources of microwaves nearby (masts/ DECT phones etc), you may want to invest in net-curtain type shielding materials to hang over the windows.
6) What about at work?
Sadly, there's more and more exposure in our work and business environment, both from within the workplace (WiFi, DECT etc.) as well as often being in the near vicinity of mobile masts, etc.
Small businesses can often be the worst, since you're more likely to be right next to the WiFi or DECT cordless phone base stations all day. Even supermarket checkouts, in particular, tend to be very high in DECT transmissions; we often get rapidly disoriented in some supermarkets/shops: a nearby Tesco Extra being particularly bad with strong DECT-type transmissions throughout, yet another nearby Tesco is fine!
Solutions?
Obviously, negotiating with your employer/ colleagues to reduce your working environment microwave exposure is ideal; but the sad fact is that most will be skeptical and resistant. Then, other than shielding your own work area if possible (with protection materials), you will have to either put up with it, or even change job.
But, at least get good rest at night. My own experience is that by creating a microwave free - or almost free - space at night means my body can sleep well and recuperate for the next day's bombardment! When I do workshops etc. at clients' premises in cities, I get right out of town at night to a quiet countryside campsite that's not near a mobile mast or DECT base. Even though I may be dizzy and disoriented by the end of a working day in town, it means that I'm then fit and clear by the next morning for another day (if I'd stayed in town or hotel I'd be even worse next day). I actually bought an old camping car just for this reason! Even hotels and bed and breakfasts out of town are usually a problem, since they almost all have DECT phones and WiFi; research in advanced and discussions/negotiations are essential (such as bringing a corded phone or Siemens Gigaset with you for them to temporarily replace their DECT phone, and asking for WiFi to be turned off, or off at night).
How strong are the microwaves where I live (or work)? - Electrosmog Detector (with audio output)
It all seems a bit of mystery and difficult to take seriously when you can't see or sense these microwaves. I have found that my Electrosmog Detector MW1 Meter (which has an audio output of the pulsings) to be VERY effective at making the point! I got the MW1 for about £60 (a fantastic investment). It's discontinued now BUT is beingreplaced by a much more sensitive one at only around £20-£30 and we hope it will be available from Sept/Oct 2011.Info on the old MW1, and any news of the new one's arrival, can be foundhere. (Sign up for my updates below and I'll let you know as soon as they are available!) I go everywhere with my MW1: checking shops, restaurants, etc, and particularly anywhere I'll be sleeping, like hotels. It's also extremely good at attracting people's attention the problem. The sounds are almost universally horrible to listen to, and so people really take notice when they hear them. It's very sensitive, but not quite enough for many people (including me), hence the new model,Still, you can HEAR for yourself the various sounds these equipment pulse at here: http://www.detect-protect.com/k/buzz/listen.htm (and they were on the video near the top of this page)
In the meantime, if your budget will allow, I highly recommend its bigger brother: the emfields.org's Acoustimeter. It is sensitive enough, goes right up to 8Ghz and most importantly, it gives the audio output too, so you can hear and let others hear the sounds of the pulses (again, very disturbing, but very convincing!) Unlike the MW1 it will give you a read out of the actual strength of the signals picked up.
Although they do cost almost £300, (£35 to hire for a week), at present I believe they are the best available and a great investment.
Making a start
There's so much more to all this, but if all you do is atleast turn off your OWN sources, especially DECT digital cordless phone base station and the WiFi on your router, you'll probably solve 80% of any problems; if you're feeling tired/ groggy, not sleeping well, etc. it could just make all the difference! At the very least turn them off at night and when not being used.
Try it for all off for week and see how you feel!
Many people I meet can trace the beginnings of their symptoms to when they (or neighbour) installed WiFi, put in a new DECT phone, a local mobile mast went up etc.
At least for the kids:
Oh, and let's protect our children too - why take the risk? - they've no idea what their cell phones and your DECT/ WiFi are doing. Many schools are dismantling their WiFi because their kids can't concentrate and behaviour gets worse (as well as some teachers getting sick too). Some countries are already banning WiFi in schools/libraries etc.)http://tinyurl.com/mobiles-banned-in-schools(register for free to read it all)
And this Metro article (London newspaper): WiFi and mobile phones pose health risk to children- report Wireless internet systems and mobile phones should be banned from schools amid fears of health risks, a report warns.
And again, as mentioned in the intro above:click here for new EU resolution: "Council of Europe wants lower levels of EMF and RF exposure in homes and schools" And here for Daily Express article If it's all as unquestionably 'safe' as many critics and commentators claim/assume, why would this even be considered? Don't forget: smoking, asbestos etc. took DECADES to be acknowledged - we're hardly into our first decade with Pulsed Microwaves!
Long term risks?
In this, the first few years of an ever-thickening electrosmog, if some of us are already experiencing mild to crippling symptoms, the long-term consequences (cancer, Alzheimer's, autism, etc. etc.) don't bear thinking about. This could be the biggest disaster ever inflicted upon humanity.
Many scientists are raising serious concerns to counter the almost universally communications-industry-funded so-called research on pulsed microwave safety.
Other leading scientists meet huge obstacles, such as funding withdrawal, when they publish findings that contradict the establishment view and so threaten the industry. Remember how doctors used to promote smoking as good for your health? It took decades to admit the problem - do we have that much time for microwaves?)
in the meantime, doesn't it make sense to take whatever steps you can to at least minimise exposure (pretty much impossible to eliminate it completely these days)?
Protection from sources outside the home
Once you have got rid of your own Pulsing Microwave sources, and you've done what you can to reduce neighbours microwaves, it may be time to check out how to protect yourselves from neighbours and the vicinity (mobile masts/ WiMax) with protection materials (if not moving house!)
The quick and easy way to protect against lower strength external microwave sources is with Aluminium foil - it is a pretty good reflector of low to medium strength signals. Best is to get the turkey foil as it's much thicker. I use spray glue to stick it to both sides of A2 thick card mount from art outlets (Range is £10 for 5 sheets!) Then try to place it between you and the source (as far as you can tell where it's coming from!) I put several covered cards both around the side of my bed towards the source and under it as the source was one floor down in my neighbour's side of our semi-detached house. That instantly stopped my night heart arrhythmias. You can go further and use wallpaper paste to glue it to the party wall(s) or walls towards masts etc. and then wallpaper over that (that's what my 91 year dad did to protect against his neighbour's BT Home Hub).
There are a number of other "emf protection" solutions involving fabric, paint etc - see for startershttp://www.detect-protect.com
For example, you can buy or make a protective fabric tent (mosquito net style) to protect you at night or on travels, then at least getting some protection and recovery time while sleeping which may significantly help. One viable option is a mosquito tent type of sleeping canopy or a BlocBag - a kind of sleeping bag made with microwave-proof materials (UK link)(USA link). Also fabric is very good to cover windows facing the source, e.g nearby mast, or to make your own tent. On a technical point, it's worth getting fabrics that will protect right up to 8Ghz (most only go to 3GHz) as new technologies are using frequencies up to 8GHz.
Impossible as it might seem, your best choice may still be to move to somewhere better, even if it means a significant change to your lifestyle - after all what price is our health and well-being??
Pendants and other devices claiming protection
You can spend an awful lot on all manner of devices to wear, put on your mobile phone, place in your home or attach to your electricity supply, etc. I am generally very sceptical about them; although it's clear that some people do find some long-term relief from some of them that goes beyond placebo effect.
A long time ago I had one on my mobile phone that absolutely did stop my ear hurting on a call - I've no idea how or why it worked so well, but the effect only lasted about three weeks.
If you can actually feel yourself being affected, best is to only get ones that offer a 'no-quibble' guarantee for a reasonable period so you can send it back if it's no good for you.
Other electrical (EMF) Sensitivity
Note that some people are also sensitive to other sources of EMF (Electro Magnetic Frequencies) from their mains supply, appliances, TV, computers, etc. The most obvious precaution is to not have a mains powered alarm clock next to your head at night.
I, myself, got great relief from sore legs by moving my PC box 1 metre away with extension cables for screen, keyboard and mouse (after a friend had the same experience).
Some people even turn their mains off at night at the breaker box. Some find metal springs in mattresses and metal bed frames act as aerials and amplifiers to these signals. Also, some are allergic to the new low energy compact fluorescent light bulbs because of their high frequencies and harsh/UV light.
Bad frequencies can be carried over the mains cables, even from neighbours' TVs, say (particularly plasma ones, LCDs seem better) and into and on and around your home!
Still, the microwave sources are usually by far the most important ones to sort out first.
Stay smiling - it's good to be cautious, but try not to let it all get you down!
